May 28: The Government of Nepal has pledged to promote tourism between Nepal and Egypt.
Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Suresh Adhikari on behalf of the government expressed the commitment to provide necessary support for the development of bilateral tourism between the two countries.
He made such a commitment during a discussion program between the travel and tour operators of both the countries held in Cairo, Egypt.
Secretary Adhikari said that the government is ready for the development and expansion of the tourism sector, which is a priority sector for the country's development.
According to the state-owned RSS, Nepal’s ambassador to Egypt, Sushil Kumar Lamsal, said there is huge potential for partnership in the tourism sector between the two countries that are rich in ancient civilization, cultural heritage and natural beauty.
General Manager of Egypt Tourism Authority, Ahmed Ali, said that the authority is willing to welcome Nepali travel agents on an informational tour.
Senior Manager of Nepal Tourism Board Sunil Sharma and General Secretary of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents Kumar Mani Thapaliya made a presentation of Nepal's tourism heritage and Nepal-Egypt tourism potential, the RSS reported.
According to the state-owned national news agency of Nepal, more than 20 representatives of travel and tour companies from Nepal and Egypt took part in the program.
