Upper House Passes Government’s Policies and Programmes for Upcoming Fiscal Year   

May 24: The National Assembly on TUesday endorsed the government’s policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year (FY 2023-24).    
The upper house of the Federal Parliament session approved the policies and programmes that were presented before the joint session of the Federal Parliament on May 19 by President Ram Chandra Paudel with majority votes.    
Amendment proposals put forth by Tulasa Kumari Dahal, Bimala Ghimire and Dr Bimala Rai Poudyal were rejected by the majority of NA members.    
Prior to the endorsement, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal responded to queries raised by upper house lawmakers during the deliberation over the policies and programmes.    
The NA shall meet again at 1 PM pm on May 28.

The government will announce the budget for the upcoming fiscal  year on May 29 based on the policies and programmes endorsed by both the houses of parliament. -- RSS
