Positive Atmosphere Commences in NEPSE; Turnover Amount Surpasses 1 Billion after 25 Days 


May 18:  The share market, which has been on a downward trend for some time, has started to show a positive atmosphere. 

With the reversal of the NEPSE with re-testing of 1807 points, investors have become active, resulting in the rise of the NEPSE Index along with turnover amount. 

Earlier, the NEPSE Index had tested the low of 1807 points and reversed and this time the index followed the suit, say technical analysts. The turnover amount has surpassed NPR 1 billion after 25 days.

Buyers have dominated the market taking advantage of the low prices of the shares and declining interest rates. Investors are calling regulatory authorities and the government to address their demands in the stock market. This has had a positive in the share market.

NEPSE index surged by 1.75% points or 32.30 points, closing at  1877.32 points on the last trading day of the week, Thursday. 

264 scrips traded their hands via 32,579 transactions today. A total of 4,422,186 shares exchanged hands, amounting to NPR  1.47 billion in turnover amount.  This is higher than the last trading day's turnover of Rs. 85.76 Crores.

Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) had the highest turnover of Rs. 8.63 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 779.20 per share. The shares of SHIVM traded the most.

Two scrips gained the highest 10% each and hit the positive circuit for the day, while NIBL Growth Fund (NIBLGF) lost the highest 3.14% today.

All sector indices closed in green zone. The  "Hotels and Tourism" gained the highest 3.75%, while "Others" gained the least 0.90% today. The sensitive index has increased by 1.48%, the float index by 1.74%, and the sensitive float index by 1.54% today.
