May 12: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has said the government will crack down the nexus involved in the scam of sending people to the US in the cover of Bhutanese refugees.
During his meeting with the leaders of CPN (Unified Socialist on Thursday, the home minister said anyone else found guilty in the case would be prosecuted while no innocent will be framed for the incident.
Describing the scam as a crime against the state, he said this is not just a case of corruption but an organised crime involving the people from top to bottom.
“This is the crime against the state to make the people statelessness."
Stating that he faced no political pressure for actions against those involved in the scandal, he pledged to conclude the matter substantively. He took time to say that he found Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal as his strong back-up support for government action against those involved in the fake Bhutanese refugees scam.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha, he has already directed the police administration to go with the investigations against the case confidently.
The Unified Socialist leaders applauded the government's move in the case and expressed their solidarity against the crime. -- RSS
