NAC to Purchase Two Airplanes

May 11: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has formed a sub-committee to forward a plan to procure two airplanes.

The national flag-carrier has brought this plan for purchasing two aircrafts to operate flights in urban destinations to increase air connectivity at the provincial level, according to the NAC.

A meeting of the NAC Board of Directors held on May 9 formed a nine-member sub-committee headed by Senior Captain Sudhir Samsher Rai for this purpose.

The sub-committee has started its work with the goal of submitting a report within 21 days.

NAC has not been able to operate flights to the urban and commercially viable areas at present due to the shortage of aircraft to fly to airports in the urban areas, reads the statement issued by the NAC.

“With the procurement of new aircrafts, NAC can operate provincial flights from Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, among other cities to increase air connectivity," according to the NAC. ---RSS
