TU, IoM Published Results of Entrance Examination 2070
Bachelor Level Entrance Examination Committee 2070, Examination Control Division of the Tribhuvan University and Institute of Medicine (IoM) Dean’s Office publishes the results of following programmes (B.Pharma, B.Sc. MLT, B.Sc. MIT, B.Optom, BASLP, B.Sc. Nursing, BAMS and BDS) for the academic year 2070/2071 (2013 AD) conducted on 16 Bhadra 2070 (1 Sep 2013). MBBS Entrance 2070 results have been also published.
 
BTC will Provide 10 per cent Scholarship to Students
The British College (BTC) has decided to provide 10 percent scholarship to students. The college took the decision during the discussion held among the college advisory committee. According to Rajan Kandel, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the college, the decision will certainly help in maintaining the relation between Britain and Nepal. “The discussion was focused on the future strategies and British visa as well,” he says. The college informed that students from six different countries are currently studying in the college.  The advisory committee of the college includes Lord Sandwich, an elected hereditary peer in the UK House of Lords (upper house), Dr Chiran Thapa, Dr Arjun Karki, among others.
 
MoE Prepared New Provision for SLC Appearing Students
Ministry of Education (MoE) has drafted a new provision for School Leaving Certificate (SLC) appearing students from this year onwards. According to the MoE, SLC appearing students will have to make illiterate people literate taking literacy classes has been taken by to accomplish the goal targeted under the literary campaign. As per the new provision, each student should make three illiterate persons literate to obtain ten marks. The total number of illiterate persons comes from an age group of 15-60.
 
NCC Celebrated Golden Jubilee
Nepal Commerce Campus celebrated golden Jubilee on September 3 at the college premise. Chairman of the interim election government, Khil Raj Regmi and Education Minister Madhav Prasad Poudel were present in the programme. On the occasion, Regmi said that the government is planning to increase budget in higher education sector in coming days. 
 
Interaction Programme @ Tourism & Hotel Management College 
Nepal Tourism and Hotel Management College at Pokhara organized an interaction programme on ‘Role of Management Education’ on September 4. Speaking at the programme Prof Ujjwal K Chowdhury, former Dean of the Symbiosis International University of India and Senior Consultant of The New Business Age Pvt Ltd said that the education system should not only be based on theoretical knowledge but it should follow investigative system. He said, “Management Colleges should focus on job viability rather than on the quantity of the students.”  Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal WM Senevirathna talked about the feasibility of tourism and hotel business in Nepal. According to the Ashok Palikhele, chairperson of the management committee of the college, such interaction programmes helps in sharing knowledge.
