May 5: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ramesh Rijal has assured that the government is highly committed to resolving the issues faced by entrepreneurs and business persons in the country.
Talking to the journalists in Chitwan, the Minister Rijal shared that the government is working on a range of programmes aimed at addressing the problems faced by entrepreneurs, including salvaging sick enterprises and industries.
Minister Rijal assured entrepreneurs and business persons that the government is thoughtful about the industries that are on the brink of shutdown due to liquidity crunch and high interest rates on lending.
The Minister stated that the current economic problems have been exacerbated by the liquidity crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
To tackle the liquidity crunch, the government is currently in discussions with the governor of the Nepal Rasta Bank and working towards reducing the interest rates of banks, said the Minister.
In addition, Rijal said that the government is also considering a programme to encourage entrepreneurs to set up industries and enterprises by providing them with land.
Minister Rijal emphasized that the government will deal with issues that require legal solutions accordingly and will work in the best interest of entrepreneurs and businesses.
