Police Issue Arrest Warrants in Connection to Entrepreneur Kandel's Suicide

May 4: Arrest warrants have been issued against two persons for inciting the death of well-known poultry entrepreneur of Chitwan, Shankar Kandel, on Wednesday.
The arrest warrants have been issued against entrepreneur Pradip Rungta and chief accountant at his company Jivan Rawal after a first information report (FIR) was filed against the duo by the victim's family.
In the FIR, the family claimed that Kandel committed suicide because of entrepreneur Rungta, who had purchased 85 percent share of his company, and the chief accountant Rawal.
Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Chitwan Rameshwar Karki, said that cooperation and coordination was established with all police units across the country after issuing the arrest warrants.

While receiving memorandums from the private sector, including FNCCI Chitwan Chapter, and Industry Association Chitwan, SP Karki said, "We've already issued arrest warrants. Coordination has been made with the Crime Division and CIB teams. Those accused of crime will be brought to book."
Kandel's family lodged complaint for inciting suicide.
Chairman of Chitwan Chapter of FNCCI, Chun Narayan Shrestha, expressed concern over the lack of cooperation from all government bodies to the entrepreneurs who have contributed significantly to the national economy.

“Kandel died due to such non-cooperation. The accused one must be booked,” he argued.
Protesting the death of the entrepreneur, the businesspersons and entrepreneurs of Chitwan have decided to organize peaceful agitation from Thursday. As part of the protest, a sit-in will be staged at District Police Office on Thursday, according to Chairman of Industry Association of Chitwan, Trilochan Kandel.
Entrepreneur Kandel was found dead at his office, Narayangadh, on Tuesday evening. Some months back, Kandel had sold the shares of Anamol Feeds Pvt to another entrepreneur, Rungta. In course of managing the shares, Rungta and chief accountant Rawal had tortured him mentally as per a suicide note he left, according to the police.
Kandel, a popular figure in the district, was 52 years old. He was a resident of Bharatpur Metropolis-2. -- RSS
