April 30: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has collected Rs 6.49 billion in revenue in the current fiscal as of April 13. This figure represents a 62.33% of the target amount set for the year.
Compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, KMC's revenue collection has improved significantly by Rs 1.40 billion.
In particular, the highest revenue was generated from property tax, which amounted to Rs 794 million during the period.
KMC has set a target of collecting Rs 10.41 billion revenue within the current fiscal year and is confident in meeting this target.
Despite previous challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, KMC's Chief of Revenue Department, Dhurba Kafle, shared that they expect to reach their revenue target this year without any issues.
The city collects revenue under 36 different headings, including property, business, advertisement, entertainment, and vehicle tax.
