April 27: The NEPSE index dropped along with turnover amount on Thursday, the last trading day of the week. The NEPSE Index shed 2.27 points or 0.12% and settled at 1889.73 points on Thursday. The index lost 13.68 points on Wednesday.
A total of 269 scrips traded hands via 21,851 transactions. A total of 2,174,914 shares exchanged hands, worth Rs 73.96 crores in turnover amount. This is lower than the last trading day's turnover of Rs. 84.7 crores.
The fall in turnover amount shows sellers not willing to sell at the current prices and buyers reluctant to make purchases.
Everest Bank Limited (EBL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 3.76 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 539 per share. The shares of HDHPC traded the most.
Citizens Mutual Fund 2 (CMF2) gained the highest 5.85% for the day. On the contrary, NIBL Growth Fund (NIBLGF) lost 10% on Thursday.
Only two sector indices settled in the green zone. "Manufacturing and processing" lost the highest 1.28%, while "Hotel and Tourism" gained the highest 1.83% today.
The Sensitive Index declined by 0.13%, while Float index and the Sensitive float index fell by 0.7% and 0.1% respectively on the last trading day.
