Rabi Lamichhane Elected MP from Chitwan-2 with over 54K Votes

April 25: Rabi Lamichhane, the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has won the by-election for the member of the House of Representatives in Chitwan-2 with 54,176 votes.

He has got almost 5000 more votes than in the last election held on November 20. During the general election, he had secured 49,300 votes.

According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, 67.63 votes were cast in November. This time, 62.77 percent votes have fallen. Despite less voter turnout, Lamichhane got about 10 percent more votes.

Jit Narayan Shrestha of Nepali Congress was a distant second with 11,214 votes while Ram Prasad Neupane of CPN UML got 10,936 votes.
