FNCCI Urges Nepal Rastra Bank to Reduce Lending Interest Rates

April 20:  The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) called upon the Nepal Rastra Bank to explore all possible means to lower the lending interest rates.

The FNCCI delegation, led by its President Chandra Prasad Dhakal, submitted a proposal to the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari, highlighting the need to address the economic problems arising from low credit demand and high inflation on Wednesday.

During the meeting, President Dhakal emphasized the difficulties facing the private sector, with many struggling to repay loans and interests. He requested restructuring and re-tabulation of the loan until July 16, citing a potential increase in bad loans for banks.

Governor Adhikari assured the delegation of a positive response from the central bank and affirmed the inclusion of the FNCCI's suggestions in the third quarter review of the monetary policy and the budget.
