Ride to Rara to Promote Tourism in Karnali   

April 19: 'Ride to Rara' motorcycle race is being held next week to promote tourism in Karnali Province.

The bike race featuring Bullet motorcycles will kick off from Birendranagar of Surkhet and conclude in Mugu, which is home to the majestic Rara Lake – the biggest lake of Nepal.

The 'Ride to Rara' competition will be held from April 23 to 25. The event is being organized by Triveni Adventures Pvt Ltd and Royal Enfield Bullet Bike Showroom with support from Nepal Tourism Board and the National Sports Council.

A total of 40 riders travelling on 20 bullet motorcycles will be taking part in the competition, Manaraj Simkhada, a representative of one of the organising companies, told the state-owned national news agency RSS.    
The event is expected to help promote tourism in Karnali while the best riders will be selected to participate in a South Asian event, RSS quoted Simkhada as saying.    
The riders will be accompanied by a medical, technical and photography team and a documentary will also be produced.

According to the organizers, the registration fee is free of cost for any aspiring rider. The estimated cost of organizing the event is around Rs 800,000.
