Online Revenue Collection Halted due to Server Problem

April 18: Revenue collection of the government has been affected due to problems in the server related to revenue. The Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO) said that the government’s revenue collection was halted from 11:00 am to 1:00 am on Monday as the served went down.

"We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the system error related to RMIA, TSA, CGAS, Sutra, PAMS and other systems operated by this office from 11:00 am to 1:00 am on Monday (April 17)," reads a notice issued by the FCGO.

Gayatri Raman Khanal, information officer of the FCGO, said that the server was operational after 1:00 pm, but was not fully operational.

“The server was completely down for three hours on Monday. When it came into operation after 1 o'clock, it was slow because many people were using the server at the same time,” said Khanal.

According to him, the online revenue collection was halted on Monday due to the problem in the government server. He said that even cheques issued could not be cashed while revenue collection was completely halted for some time.
