NEPSE Dips Marginally; Turnover Amount Falls Below 1 Billion 

April 16: On the first trading of New Year 2080 BS, the NEPSE Index lost 2.80 points and closed at 1,931.68 on Sunday. The Sensitive Index lost 0.26 points and closed at 367.73 points while the turnover amount shrank below Rs 1 billion. 

Experts say that investors are waiting for the third quarter report of the listed companies before they increase their purchases. “Since investors are waiting for the third quarter report, they are in wait and watch mood,” said an active investor.

Out of 13 sectors on NEPSE sub-indices, four sectors closed in green zone while nine sectors landed in red.  Hotel and Tourism sub-indice gained the highest 4.65%, while Non-life Insurance, Banking Index and Life Insurance Index gained 0.22%, 0.01%, and 0.09% respectively. 

Trading Index lost the highest 0.98%, while Microfinance and Development Bank indices lost 0.66% and 0.41% respectively. 

A total of 265 scrips traded hands via 33,149 transactions. A total of 3,056,775 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 97.45 Crores in turnover amount. This is lower than the last trading day's turnover of Rs. 1.653 billion. 

Soaltee Hotel Limited (SHL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 3.89 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 259 per share. The shares of NICBF traded the most.

Three scrips gained the highest they could and technically hit the positive circuit for the day.
Conversely, Asian Hydropower Limited (AHL) lost the highest 7.83% today.
