April 11: The government is preparing to merge the Survey Office and the Land Revenue Office.
The process has been forwarded to merge the offices in a bid to make service delivery effective and reduce problems faced by the service seekers in reaching the two separate offices of the same kind in terms of service they provide, said Dr Damodar Regmi, secretary of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.
“The merger will also help save some government expenditures,” he said.
Similarly, the Survey Department’s Director General Janak Raj Joshi said the merger is about to take place because there is no need to have separate offices of Survey Department and Land Revenue Office. -- RSS
