April 10: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has decided to terminate the appointment of all tourism goodwill ambassadors.

All appointments for the posts of tourism ambassadors are scrapped from the tourism minister-level decision, said Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati. 

With the approval of Tourism Promotion Procedures 2079 BS,  all the sitting goodwill ambassadors have been terminated, said Minister Kirati.

However, the new procedures have opened the avenues for their reappointment after fulfilling the processes. Earlier, tourism goodwill ambassadors were appointed prior to the enactment of the procedures. 

The Ministry has also replaced the term 'goodwill ambassadors' with the 'tourism promoters'. Likewise, the Ministry has decided to write to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for making initiatives to make flights to different cities of India from Nepalgunj Airport ----RSS
