April 5: After four days’ consecutive fall, the NEPSE index gained 8.39 points and settled at 1875.07 on Wednesday. NEPSE posted a rise of 0.45 per cent today against the loss of 5.20 points yesterday.
Though the one and only equity market closed with marginal gain, turnover amount has not gone up. Owing to the lack of confidence, investors have not increased their investment. Since investors are in wait and watch mood, they have not injected fresh cash to the market.
As many as 262 scrips traded hands via 21,504 transactions. A total of 2,602,956 shares exchanged hands with the total transaction amount standing at Rs. 81.6 crores . This is lower than the last trading day's turnover of Rs. 91.76 crores.
Shivam Cement Limited (SHIVM) shares traded the most and had the highest turnover of Rs. 6.43 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 409 per share.
Likewise, Kalinchowk Darshan Limited (KDL) gained the highest 9.97% and technically hit the positive circuit for the day.
Conversely, Citizens Mutual Fund -1 (CMF1) lost the highest 7.14% today.
Out of all traded sub-indices, only three closed in the red zone. "Hotel and Tourism" gained the highest 0.52%, while "Non-Life Insurance" lost the highest 1.04% today.
