April 3: Unilever has collaborated with the Nepalese Army in the Mountain Cleanup Campaign 2023.
The company has taken this initiative as a part of its commitment to make the world a ‘sustainable common habitat'. This is the third time the company is cooperating with the clean mountain campaign of the army.
The company said that the campaign is being organised with the objective of reducing the impact of climate change by protecting and cleaning the mountains.
As part of this year's campaign, the target is to collect 35 tons of garbage while cleaning Mount Everest, Lhotse, Annapurna and and Baruntse.
Amlan Mukherjee, managing director of Unilever Nepal Limited, said, “We aim to set a new record this year in waste collection, segregation and recycling of accumulated waste through continued efforts.”
