Beni-Jomsom Road to be Closed for Six Hours a Day

March 17: The Beni-Jomsom road that connects Mustang to the national highway will remain closed for six hours a day starting from Friday.
According to the District Administration Office, Myagdi, the decision to halt the traffic was taken to carry out landslide prevention works along the Rupse Falls area in Annapurna Rural Municipality-3. Construction of a Bailey bridge and road widening works are also being carried out.
Myagdi’s Assistant Chief District Officer, Dhirendra Raj Pant, said vehicular movement will not be allowed along the Rupse section from 6:00 am to 9:00 am and from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm from March 17 to 28.
However, the road won't be closed for three days from March 20-23 in view of the Chaite Dashain festival as a large number of devotees are expected to visit Kagbeni to observe the festival.
The administration is to come up with additional provisions for emergency vehicles and ambulances.
