March 10: Nepal exported cement worth around Rs 170 million in the first seven months of the current fiscal year.
Data released by the Department of Customs on Friday show that Nepal exported cement and clinker equivalent to Rs 167 million 33 thousand in the review period.
In the seven months' period, clinker worth Rs 106.37 million and cement worth Rs 60.65 million was exported.
The department said 151,158 tonnes of clinker and 153,493 tonnes cement has been exported during this period.
Two Nepali cement industries have been exporting Nepali brand cement to India. The 'Tansen' brand cement is being exported since July 8, 2022 and the 'Arghakhanchi' brand cement since October 17, 2022. The Nepali cement is exported to various markets in India.
Manager of Arghakhanchi Cement Industry Rajesh Agrawal said that although the export declined during big festivals, it has now started to peak. -- RSS
