March 2: Jazeera Airways has announced that it will resume its scheduled flights to and from Bhairahawa-based Gautam Buddha International Airport from next week.
Jazeera Airways is planning to operate three flights a week from Bhairahawa to Kuwait starting from March 9. The company informed that it will operate flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The one-way fare to Kuwait has been fixed at Rs 28,836.
Ravi Chandra Singh, general sales agent of Jazeera based in Nepal, said that the flights are going to be regularized according to Jazeera's commitment to support Gautam Buddha International Airport and the overall tourism of Nepal.
He believes that this will help promote Lumbini as a spiritual destination, especially among Indian citizens living in the Middle East. "It will help to ensure maximum arrival at Gautam Buddha International Airport, promote tourism here and support the overall economic growth of the nation," he said.
It maybe noted that Jazeera Airways was the first airlines company to start operation at the newly built airport of Nepal. However, it suspended flights during this winter citing lack of instrument landing system and poor visibility at the airport during the winter period.
