February 24: Hetauda Cement Industry, which was closed for the last two weeks, has started operation from today (February 24) after resumption of coal supply. The industry was forced to close temporarily due to the unavailability of coal, said the industry.
Although the company had called for bids to supply of 8,000 metric tonnes of coal, it has only received 1,600 metric tons, said Deputy General Manager of the industry Nabin Kumar Karna. He added that the amount supplied would last only for 15 days.
Coal is being supplied from India, Bhutan, Indonesia and Pakistan, he said. -- RSS
