Fresh Earthquake Strikes Bajura

 

February 22: An earthquake has struck Bajura on Wednesday. Nearly a month after a 5.9-magnitude tremor hit the district on January 24, a fresh quake struck Bajura at 1:45 pm on Wednesday.

 According to the Seismological Research and Measurement Centre Surkhet, the tremor measured 5.2 on the Richter scale with its epicenter at Bichchhya of Himali Rural Municipality struck the district. 

The tremor was felt in the hilly districts of the Sudurpaschim province, including Bajura, Bajhang, Achham. The earthquake has left the locals panicked. 

Local people worry that the earthquake might damage their thatched houses. People affected by the earlier earthquake have not yet got the relief nor have they been rehabilitated. Details regarding the possible damage by the earthquake are yet to be received.
