February 21: The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) has blacklisted five construction and supply companies for abandoning their projects without completion. The companies have been blacklisted as per the Public Procurement Act, 2063, said the office in a notice issued on Monday.    
The blacklisted companies are Engineers Construction and Mint Craft Pvt Ltd based in Bharatpur-4 in Chitwan district, Jaya Gadhimai Construction Pvt Ltd, Guna Construction Sewa and Kalpana Construction Pvt Ltd. These companies have been blacklisted for one year while Mudbhari and Joshi Construction Pvt Ltd has been blacklisted for two years.    
Engineers Construction run by Bikash Shrestha had abandoned construction works in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality in Chitwan. Khairahani Municipality in Chitwan district recommended the blacklisting of Jaya Gadhimai operated by Sita Ram Chaudhary. Mudbhari and Joshi run by Karan Kumar Mudbhari had stranded the construction works of the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company. Guna Construction operated by Gunaraj Pathak had left the construction works related to the Durgalaxmi Multiple Campus in Kailali in the lurch. Similarly, Barabardiya Municipality recommended the blacklisting of Kalpana Construction.    
"The blacklisted companies cannot participate in any procurement process until the period they have been blacklisted for expires," reads the notice. -- RSS
