Hetauda Cement Industry Shuts Production

February 13:  Citing a coal shortage, Hetauda Cement Industry has closed its production.

The industry had issued an invitation to bid for the supply of coal some weeks ago. It is in the process of importing 10,000 metric tons of the coal in two phases.

“The industry will resume the cement production after storage of the adequate reserves of the coal from February 17,” said Deputy General Manager Nabin Kumar Karna of the factory.

The industry is preparing to import quality coal from India, Pakistan, Bhutan, and Indonesia, Karna said.
The cement manufactured by the industry is sold in Kathmandu, Hetauda and other cities in Nepal.
