February 9: Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, a leading multinational company based in Nepal, has pledged financial assistance of more than Rs 11 million to the ‘Clean Mountain Campaign 2023'.
This campaign initiated by the Nepalese Army aims to protect biological diversity, nature and environment, especially in the mountainous areas of Nepal.
Surya Nepal said it will collaborate with the Nepalese Army and the Center for Research and Sustainable Development Nepal, a non-governmental organization, in this campaign.
“To support this campaign, the company will contribute Rs 11 million as part of its social responsibility,” reads a statement issued by Surya Nepal.
In this regard, a tripartite agreement has been signed between the Nepalese Army, Surya Nepal and Center for Research and Sustainable Development Nepal.
Brigadier General Sundar Kumar Pandey, Lieutenant Colonel Kishor Adhikari, Anand Mishra of the Center for Research and Sustainable Development Nepal, Managing Director of Surya Nepal Ravi K Rayavaram, and Manager Prem Narayan Aryal were present during the signing ceremony.
Under the 'Clean Mountain Campaign 2023', the Nepalese Army has been collecting waste materials from the world's highest peak Mt. Everest and other mountains such as Annapurna and Lhotse with the objective of making those mountains clean.
