January 29: A training on how to make slippers meant for women has started off in Chitwan. The training is aimed at developing women entrepreneurship and promoting their capacity.
Women Beauty Parlour and Skill Development Programme Consumers’ Committee is organising the training with assistance from Bharatpur Metropolitan City, ward No 16, according to the committee’s chairperson Srijana Pandey.
Ram Krishna Dhakal, Secretary of ward no 26, said that his ward was helping the committee in different ventures to make women self-dependent.
Making slippers is easy and convenient for women. This training will enhance their skills and help them become financially capable and independent, said Dhakal. As many as 50 women are participating in the one-week long training.
Committee chairperson Pandey says that the training will impart skills on how to make slippers for the women from Divyanagar of ward-16. “This will help local women to be self-reliant and financially free”, she added.
