January 20: Humla district witnessed a snowfall from last night, the first during this winter.
In the previous years, the district used to receive snowfall in December.
The locals in the district headquarters Simkot have been enjoying the snowfall that occurred after a long gap.
However, the heavy snowfall has affected the normal life in the northern belt of the district. Local residents said that normal life has come to a standstill at Limi village in Namkha Rural Municipality-6 due to the heavy snowfall.
The villages including Limi, Muchu, Khagalgaun, Til and Jang have received heavy snowfall, affecting the normal life and locals’ mobility there.
In the meantime, the farmers are hopeful of good production of millet, buckwheat and other winter crops. -- RSS
