January 18: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has revised the Unified Directives to Infrastructure Development Banks, 2078 BS making it mandatory for infrastructure development banks to enter the details of their daily liquidity situation and inter-bank transactions in  the Supervisory Information System (SIS) of NRB.

Issuing a circular on Tuesday, the central bank instructed the authorized infrastructure banks to follow the new rules issued in line with Section 79 of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058.

The banks must now submit the liquidity statement through the SIS by 12 noon of the next working day and the statement of inter-bank transactions upon completion of the transaction.     NRB has also instructed such banks to enter the details of the returns and ad hoc data in the system within June 16 later this year.

The infrastructure development banks must also submit the details of interest rates of deposits and loans through the same system within seven days of amendment of the interest rates.

As per the new provisions, the licensed infrastructure development banks will also have to update the details including primary information, details of committee, ownership details, subsidiary/associates details, details of board of directors, details of auditors name, details of management team name, details of chief executive officer (CEO) name, details of compliance and reporting officer name, annual general meeting report and resolution and policies and procedures within seven days of change.

Nepal Infrastructure Development Bank is the one and only infrastructure development bank in the country so far.
