January 8: Following the directive of the Ministry of Home Affairs, District Administration Office (DAO) Kapilvastu has shut down as many as 15 illegally operating crusher industries in the district.

Ministry of Home Affairs had sent the circulars to all 77 DAOs to shut down the illegal crusher industries on January 4. 
Out of the total 33 crusher industries in the district, fifteen were closed down after the circular while remaining eighteen industries had not been operating for sometimes. 

Kapilvastu CDO Dharmendra Kumar Mishra said DAO had shut down fifteen illegally operating crusher industries on January 5. 
Some crusher industries are operating without renewing their permission. Police personnel will monitor and inspect such industries and close them down, according to CDO Mishra. 

Eleven crusher industries located in Shivraj Municipality, two at Bijaynagar Rural Municipality and one each at Budhhabhumi Municipality and Krishna Nagar Municipality have been closed down.
