PM Dahal Inaugurates Pokhara Regional International Airport

January 1: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday inaugurated the Pokhara Regional International Airport amidst a grand ceremony.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister Dahal unveiled a plaque marking the official inauguration of the airport.

PM Dahal arrived in Pokhara on Sunday morning to attend the inauguration ceremony. He is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Bishnu Poudel.

The airport was built with an investment of Rs 22 billion.

The construction of the airport – a national pride project – which started in 2010 was set to be completed in 4 years. However, the construction started only after the loan agreement between the Government of Nepal and the Government of China in February 2016. Although the target was to complete the works by the year 2020, it was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
