December 28: A series of earthquakes occurred at different areas of Baglung district this morning.
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, three earthquakes occurred at different epicenters in the district in early hours of Wednesday.
As per the information shared by the centre, an earthquake measuring 4.7 magnitude in the Richter scale with its epicenter in Adhikari Chaur, Baglung was recorded at 1.23 am this morning. Likewise, a 5.3-magnitude earthquake occurred with its epicenter in Khunga at 2.07 am this morning. The third one measuring 4 on the Richter scale took place with its epicenter at Adhikari Chowk at 3.28 am on Wednesday morning.
The centre informed that the earthquakes were not the aftershocks of the Gorkha Earthquake but new tremors. The centre has identified the Himalayan region of Nepal as one of the vulnerable zones for earthquake. -- RSS
