December 20: Buddha Air is preparing to operate two flights a day between Kathmandu and Surkhet with ATR 72 aircraft.
The company, which started Kathmandu-Surkhet flights from 2013 with Beechcraft 1900D (18 seats), is now flying with 42-seat aircraft. Now, the company is going to operate two daily flights with aircraft having a seating capacity of 72 seats.
The company currently operates only one daily flight and will start two daily flights between Kathmandu and Surkhet from Wednesday, December 21.
The first Kathmandu-Surkhet flight from December 21 will be operated at 10 am and the second flight at 1:25 pm. Similarly, the company informed that the first flight from Surkhet to Kathmandu is scheduled to take off at 11:35 am and the second flight at 3 pm.
The company had started test flights along the Kathmandu-Surkhet route with ATR 72 from December 16. Now, with the success of the test flights, two daily flights are going to be started on a regular basis.
Buddha Air, which is leading the domestic air sector of Nepal, has been flying to almost all the airports where the private sector flies.
