December 18: Croatia eased past Morocco 2-1 to claim the third place in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on Saturday.

A sublime header from Joško Gvardiol in the seventh minute gave the 2018 runners-up Croatia the lead but the joy was short lived.

Morocco’s Achraf Dari levelled just two minutes later by nodding home from close range.

According to the BBC, Mislav Orsic curled in a sumptuous second for Croatia via the post three minutes before half-time.

The second half could not match the energy of a thrilling opening period and Morocco failed to find an equaliser as a fruitful campaign ended in back-to-back defeats.
