December 6: The government has decided to operate five buses of Sajha Yatayat to facilitate tourists to visit world heritage sites in the Kathmandu Valley.

Under the “Tourism Revival Workplan”, the government will commence bus services from January 1, 2023. The buses will ply to Patan Durbar Square, Swoyambhu, Bauddha, and Pashupatinath Temple from the start of the English New Year. Likewise, tourist buses will be launched in the world heritage sites located in Bhaktapur after some weeks.

Once the tourists purchase the tickets, they can travel to the designated sites at their convenience and would not have to pay extra amount to visit other designated places. The bus service is expected to save tourists’ time and ease their travel.

Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha said that the government was working to start bus services to help guests reach the world heritage sites and other important places with ease and convenience.

Earlier, the government had started a heritage route from world heritage site Basantpur Durbar Square to Swoyambhu to attract more tourists. Work is underway to develop necessary infrastructures along the route.
