Seventeen Independent Candidates Elected Nationwide

December 5: As many as seventeen independent candidates have been elected to the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies in the polls held on November 20. As per the Election Commission, five independent candidates were elected to the lower house of the federal parliament while twelve independents got elected to the provincial assemblies.

According to the Election Commission, six independent candidates were elected to the Madhes Provincial Assembly, three to the Lumbini Provincial Assembly and one to Gandaki Provincial Assembly. Likewise, one independent candidate each was elected to Karnali and Sudurpaschim provincial assemblies.

Yogendra Mandal was elected to the House of Representatives from Morang constituency-1 while Amresh Kumar Singh and Kiran Kumar Sah were elected members of the lower house of parliament from Sarlahi constituency-4 and Rautahat constituency-2 respectively. Likewise, Prabhu Sah and Lalbir Chaudhary made it to the House of Representatives from Rautahat-3 and Bardiya constituency-2 respectively.

Similarly, Anirudda Kumar Singh, Surita Kumari Sah, Jawahar Lal Kusahawa, Keshav Ray, Sharada Prasad Kalwar and Pramod Kumar Jaisawal have been elected to the Madhes Provincial Assembly. 

Rajiv Gurung was elected to the Gandaki Provincial Assembly while Surul Pun, Dipendra Kumar Pun Magar and Khadga Basnet have been elected to the Lumbini Provincial Assembly.  Devendra Bahadur Shahii and Tara Prasad Joshi made it to the Karnali Provincial Assembly and  Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly respectively.
