November 26: Counting of votes cast under the Proportional Representation (PR) system during the election to the members of the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies is underway. The voting was held on November 20.
According to the vote count update made available by the Election Commission on Saturday morning, the CPN (UML) is leading the PR tally under the House of Representatives. The party has received 1,809,417 votes so far.
Similarly, the Nepali Congress is in the second position with 1,744,069 votes followed by Rastriya Swatantra Party with 787,747 votes. Likewise, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has secured 767,306 votes while Rastriya Prajatantra Party has obtained 403,079 votes so far.
Janata Samahbadi Party Nepal has secured 216,943 votes, followed by CPN-Unified Socialist (164,856 votes), Nagarik Unmukti Party (156,582 votes), and Janamat Party (148,404 votes), according to the EC. -- RSS
