November 24: The CPN (UML) is leading the vote count under proportional representation category with a total 452,730 votes so far. The Nepali Congress is second with 416,184 votes, according to the latest update of the Election Commission.
The Rastriya Swatantra Party is third with 234,747 votes followed by the CPN (Maoist Center) with 192,742 votes.
Similarly, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has secured 123,909 votes, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal 57,910 votes, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party 42,457 votes and the Janamat Party 28,344 votes.
Likewise, the CPN (Unified Socialist) has secured 28,376 votes, Nagarik Unmukti Party 25,616 votes, and others have received 98,519 votes.
According to the EC's preliminary estimate, voter turnout was 61 percent.
Under the PR category, a party is required to get at least three percent of the total number of votes cast to get seats. It means that a single party should get over 320,000 votes to secure seats in parliament under the PR section. -- RSS
