Govt Declares Public Holiday Today to Mourn the Demise of Centenarian Joshi   

October 18: The government has declared a public holiday on Tuesday to mourn the demise of centenarian Satya Mohan Joshi.    
Issuing a press statement on Monday, the Ministry of Home Affairs stated that the government has decided to give a public holiday across the country on Tuesday.    
The statement issued by the ministry’s spokesperson Phanindra Mani Pokharel reads that the government has also decided to raise the national flag at half-mast on Tuesday at all government offices, public organisations across the nation and at diplomatic missions abroad to mourn the passing away of cultural expert Joshi.    
Joshi passed away on Sunday at the age of 103. --  RSS
