Rain Predicted in Western Parts of Nepal

October 6: Rainfall in various parts of the country including the Kathmandu Valley has continued since Tuesday night. As a result, offering and receiving Tika on the main day of Bada Dashain festival was affected on Wednesday.

Light to moderate rain is predicted to continue across the country as the monsoon low pressure trough lies towards the north than the normal position, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
"The Kathmandu Valley received light rainfall on the tenth day of Dashain. There is no possibility of clear weather. The weather continues to become cloudy for two or three more days," said senior meteorologist Shanti Kandel.

According to Kandel, heavy rainfall is predicted in western and far-western Nepal, and this will continue for two or three more days.

As a result, flooding and landslides are expected to occur, she added. The division has urged precaution. -- RSS
