September 16: The Election Commission has directed the National Land Commission to immediately stop the distribution of land ownership certificates. Likewise, all the three tiers of governments have been instructed not to allow any foreign visits once the election code of conduct comes into effect.    
The EC issued such directive in view of the preparation intensified for the upcoming elections to the provincial assemblies and the federal parliament.

The Land Commission has been further directed to provide every information on distribution of land ownership certificates and land mapping within the September 17. The EC said it is for maintaining fairness and credibility of election. -- RSS
