September 9: The Kathmandu valley recorded 46 millimeters of rainfall in three hours today (September 9). According to meteorologist Manju Basi of the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the valley witnessed rainfall since today morning.
Similarly, Bara received the highest 112 mm of rainfall. According to Basi, Kathmandu valley and adjoining areas received rainfall today which it is likely to continue for the next few days.
The valley witnessed intermittent heavy rainfall at some locations. Singha Durbar, Maitighar, Putalisadak, Ratnapark and Tripureshwar areas were hit by heavy downpour for a brief time.
As per the division, the axis of monsoon trough is towards the south from the average location, resulting in partly to generally cloudy weather and rainfall across the country.
Tonight, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hill areas of the country and partly cloudy in the rest of the country. The division has predicted light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning at a few places of the hill region of the country. -- RSS
