The Election Commission reviewed the number of polling stations considering the number of voters, convenience and security sensitivities in accordance with the Polling Station and Voting Centre Fixation Work Procedure, 2077. </span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:Calibri,"sans-serif""><span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel confirmed that the number of polling station has been increased to 10,888. The EC took such decision to make polling management effective and ensure easy access of voters to the voting process. </span><br />
<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">In line with the arrangements specified in the work procedure, the revision was also based on the recommendations received from the district polling station and voting centre fixation recommendation committee. </span><br />
<span style="font-family:"Arial Unicode MS","sans-serif"">The recommendations were made considering several aspects such as voters' density, access to polling station, building, communications, electricity, transport, status of infrastructure, security and geographical situation and consensus among electoral stakeholders. -- RSS</span></span></span></p>
