NOC Hikes Prices of Diesel and Kerosene by Six Rupees Per Litre

September 2: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of diesel and kerosene by Rs 6 per litre. The state-owned oil supplier informed that it increased the prices of diesel and kerosene after receiving a revised list of prices of petroleum products from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).

As per the new list, the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene has increased but the NOC has decided not to increase the price of petrol.

A board meeting of NOC on Thursday decided to increase the prices of diesel and kerosene effective from today (September 2).  

According to the NOC, the new price of diesel and kerosene has been fixed at Rs 178 per litre.

The prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) remains unchanged at Rs 190 per litre and Rs 1800 per cylinder respectively.

Likewise, the price of petrol also remains stable at Rs 181 per litre.

According to NOC, it is making a profit of Rs 2.82 from a litre of petrol while it has to incur a fortnightly loss of Rs 482.4 million for selling diesel and LPG.

As per the revised list received from IOC on Thursday, the price of petrol has increased by Rs 1.39 while the prices of diesel and aviation fuel have been increased by Rs 6.12 and Rs 8.1 respectively. On the other hand, IOC has slashed the price of kerosene and LPG.
