September 1: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Jeevan Ram Shrestha, on Wednesday held consultation with bodies concerned regarding launching a night heritage tour in Kathmandu Valley.
On the occasion, Minister Shrestha expressed his belief that night heritage tour would help increase the number of tourists and their stay in Katmandu Valley. He said that the night heritage tour would help promote art, culture and heritages of Kathmandu Valley and also conserve the heritage sites.
The night heritage tour would be operated by making all preparations including collaboration between tourism entrepreneurs and locals, arrangement of lights, security as well as running local business till evening.
Tourism entrepreneurs said the night view of historic heritage sites, temples, parks and stone spouts would be very attractive and mesmerizing.
Representatives of local levels of Kathmandu Valley, hotel entrepreneurs, tourism entrepreneurs, police and representatives of local organisations were present during the discussion.
According to the Minister Shrestha's Secretariat, the proposed night heritage tour would help in economic prosperity of locals. Minister Shrestha has mentioned about operating night heritage tour in Kathmandu Valley in his tourism revival action plan as well. -- RSS
