August 30: The Pashupati Area Development Trust has decided to reopen the east entrance of Pashupatinath this year for the convenience of the devotees visiting the Pashupatinath Temple on the occasion of Teej festival today.
The east entrance is going to be reopened for the first time after 2065 BS. The east entrance was closed after the incident of 2065 in which the main priest of Pashupatinath Temple was changed.
Chief of Culture Conservation Division of the PADT, Gauri Shankar Parajuli, told RSS that arrangements have been made for the devotees coming from Koteshwor-Tinkune-Sinamangal to enter Pashupatinath Temple from east entrance via Ram temple-Aryaghat after entering from Tilganga tourist ticket counter area.
Arrangement of four queues has been made for the devotees visiting the Pashupathinath on the occasion of Teej. Devotees can enter Pashupatinath Temple area from Mitrapark area from the second queue while arrangement has been made for devotees to enter Pashupatinath area from Gaushala-Pingalasthan-Panchadewal area from the third queue.
Similarly, people using the fourth queue can enter the Pashupatinath temple via Guheshwori-Umakunda-Kailash in the southern part.
The PADT has made preparation to mobilize women security personnel and volunteers inside the main temple.
