Advocates Santosh Bhandari and Punya Prasad Khatiwada had filed the writ petition at the apex court. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:Calibri,"sans-serif"">The petitioners had argued that the government’s decision lacked proper research and study and was just a whimsical decision.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px"><span style="font-family:Calibri,"sans-serif"">The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the Ministry of General Administration were made the defendants in the case. However, the case does not hold significance anymore as the government has withdrawn its decision.</span></span></p>
