April 4: Supply of petroleum products in the market has eased following an agreement between the protesting petroleum dealers and the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC).
Government-owned petrol stations across the country were jam-packed this weekend after the private petrol stations refused to collect up petroleum products from the NOC demanding hike in commission.

The Nepal Petroleum Dealers' National Association had launched a protest last week against the NOC for not increasing the commission received by private petrol stations, the state-owned national news agency RSS reported. The dealers argued that they incurred huge losses due to the rising prices of petroleum products in the international market.
Following the agreement, supply of petroleum products in the market has eased since Sunday morning (April 4), RSS further reported. The NOC said it delivered 1,600 kiloliters of petrol and 1,100 kiloliters of diesel to the market.

As per the agreement, a decision on the commission amounts and the supply of LP gas would be taken within seven days while the other demands of the association would be addressed by May 29, informed NOC Spokesperson Binit Mani Upadhyay.
