<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Out of the total foreign trade through Birgunj, goods worth Rs 402.48 billion were imported while goods worth Rs 60 billion were exported.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">According to the Information and Technology Branch of the customs, the trade deficit through this customs point alone is Rs 342 billion. Mainly, petroleum products, vehicles and spare parts and industrial raw materials are imported from Birgunj customs point. Meanwhile, customs data show that refined edible oil, juice, clothes, shoes and other items are exported from the country.</span></span></p>

He also informed that the revenue collection was 4 percent more than the target. The revenue collection target for the first seven months of the current fiscal year was set at Rs 116.71 billion.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Out of the total foreign trade through Birgunj, goods worth Rs 402.48 billion were imported while goods worth Rs 60 billion were exported.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">According to the Information and Technology Branch of the customs, the trade deficit through this customs point alone is Rs 342 billion. Mainly, petroleum products, vehicles and spare parts and industrial raw materials are imported from Birgunj customs point. Meanwhile, customs data show that refined edible oil, juice, clothes, shoes and other items are exported from the country.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, Birgunj customs has collected customs duty of Rs 44.39 billion, value added tax of Rs 47.53 billion and excise duty of Rs 13.67 billion. According to the Birgunj customs, more than Rs 9 billion has been raised under the heading of infrastructure tax, Rs 2.31 billion has been raised for road maintenance and improvement and Rs 3.40 billion for road construction and maintenance.</span></span></p>
